Margarita
Our Margarita took months
to develop. Ask 100 people what makes a great Margarita and
you will get 100 different answers. So we made ours suit our
tastes but with a little help from our friends. It starts out
slightly tart with lots of lime and lemon and finishes with a
touch of sweetness that favors our exclusive orange/tangerine
blend. Because it is less tart than many, you can enjoy
several without that overwhelming pucker from the other
brands. Our favorite is made with Sauza Hornitos!
Cosmopolitan
This Cosmopolitan hits
you head on with lots of sweet cranberry and orange and
finishes with a lingering tart lime. This is a much easier to
drink version that is not as tart and with no bitterness like it's
restaurant counterpart. It truly makes 2 oz. of vodka
disappear rapidly. Our favorite is made with Ketel One Citrus
and Stoli Cranberry.
Apple Martini
This Appletini was fashioned
after Island Doc's Original Version that he first made in
Anquilla while on the beach with Kiki! Let's see... we have
green apple and a touch of caramel right up front and then a
honeydew melon - lime finish that really surprises the palate.
Our favorite is made with Hangar One Kaffir Lime and Vox
Apple.
Prickly (Cactus)
Pear Margarita
We fell in love with a
version we had in Texas and just had to make it. Prickly Pear
juice is beet red and tastes like concentrated
strawberry/watermelon juice. And when mixed with the flavors
of a traditional margarita....well it Lites up your mouth. It
starts with strawberry/watermelon/lime and then the tequila
actually surfaces just a little. This has actually taken over
our margarita experiences. Once you go 'Prickly' you'll rarely
go back! Sauza Hornitos is the only way to go!
Strawberry Daiquiri
Back in the 70's Island Doc
was trained by an amazing bartender working this little Tiki
Bar in St. John's. His secret to the best Daiquiri ever was
the addition of Passion Fruit Syrup. It did not matter if it
was a Banana, Peach or Strawberry Daiquiri...he always added
Passion Fruit. It became known throughout the Caribbean.
Those days may me long gone but not the memory of those
Daiquiris. Our Strawberry Daiquiri carries on the tradition by
starting our with loads of strawberries and passion fruit
followed by just a touch of key lime at the end. And not to
sweet so you can have more than one! Just float a great dark
rum and your set!
Pina Colada
Colada's in the
Caribbean have always been about the coconut. However, in the
South Seas it's as much about the Vanilla as the Coconut. So
we decided to bring the South Seas home in our version of this
frozen masterpiece. Our Colada starts out with the perfect
blend of Coconut and sweet Pineapple and then slowly the
Vanilla creeps in right at the end. So subtle but so
refreshing! Again, a dark rum float is all you need.
Sweet & Sour
This is the most
versatile of all cocktail mixes. And our version is no
exception. From Martini's to Long Islands this mix does it
all. It starts with a smooth somewhat sweet balance of Lemon
and Orange and finishes with just a hint of tart lime. This is
not a masking sweet & sour so the flavors of whatever liquor
you use will come through nicely.
Rum Runner
This mix tastes like
it just fell of a Pineapple-Orange-Banana-Blackberry tree...if
there ever was such a thing. The first to hit the tongue
is the Blackberry-Banana and then an immediate switch to the
Pineapple-Orange. When mixed with a gold rum and a dark rum
float it really makes you feel swashbuckelish.....
Hurricane
Not your run of the
mill Hurricane mix. This one certainly does not taste like
fruit punch. Instead it overwhelms you with Mango then a hint
of Apricot comes thru before it finishes with an Orange-Passion
fruit
explosion that all of a sudden turns to Sweet Almond. This one
is also best with a gold and dark rum combination.
